Want To Look Slimmer? Try Giving Your Liver A “Wake-Up Call”

Everybody poops, there’s no doubt about it.

According to Dr. Frank Lipman, who authored ‘Young and Slim For Life’ and ‘The New Health Rules — millions of Americans may not be pooping often enough.

And while many people attempt to “heal” their gut with simple store-bought probiotics, there’s a silent partner to this powerful organ that most people neglect: the liver.

The liver is a detox powerhouse that filters out toxins and waste from the bloodstream. This helps keep our bodies clean and functioning properly, which directly impacts gut health by preventing harmful substances from accumulating in the digestive system.

So what happens when the liver is sluggish and causes a traffic jam to your digestive system?

Lipman explains, “When waste sits inside the bowels for extended periods, it can start to feel normal, it almost becomes part of you in a sense.”

“So when people experience things like lack of energy or poor concentration, they tend to assume they’re just caused by aging, when really, that built up waste, and the potentially harmful particles in it, may be to blame.”

Similarly, Lipman urges adults to look for visible weight gain and a heavy looking midsection — a problem that famously made actress Maggie Q, 44, and her then “bulging” stomach, a target for tabloids.”

“Like most people, came to me thinking she needed to work out more and eat less,” he recalls with her permission.

“But right away, I could see that problem was actually caused by too much waste and gas in her gut.”

Today, the film and TV star attributes her daily poops to a simple “wake up call” to help energize her liver, and a new technique that she learned in his office. (Judging by her waistline, it works.)

But can it really replace popular methods, like probiotic pills? Absolutely, says Lipman.

In fact, he actively discourages people from relying on probiotics for their digestion.

“What probiotics do is, they repopulate the gut with good bacteria, and that’s certainly important — but ultimately, these bacteria are just one piece of the puzzle,” he explains.

“So in my opinion, this really is the best way to poop.”
