Chiefs quarterback Carson Wentz reveals why he is connecting with the city of KC so much already

the more fortunate sports franchises in the U.S. to be located in a die-hard sports city. There are four professional sports teams in Kansas City, and the fan bases for each of them are pretty crazy, none is better than the fan base of the Kansas City Chiefs when it comes to being die-hards.

But the city is special, and anyone who has spent time in it can attest to that. No, it doesn’t have the same beach appeal that Los Angeles Tampa Bay, or cities like that have, where you’re on the beach, in the sand with palm trees everywhere you go.

It certainly doesn’t have the weather advantage that cities like Miami and Las Vegas have, as last season’s playoff game against the Miami Dolphins in Kansas City was a record-breaker for how cold it was.

But, there is something about the city that attracts people. It does bring people in. And for the free agents that come to KC and don’t know much about it before they get there, it doesn’t take long for them to love Kansas City, and we are seeing that already with one of the team’s new players.

“Yeah, love it,” new backup quarterback Carson Wentz said on Friday. “Just the cultures, the values, everything that me and my wife, our family stand on makes us feel right at home. The fan base, I’ve played at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium a couple of times, and I appreciate the fanbase now on my side. So, it’s definitely been a cool city to get to know in my first whatever it’s been – six weeks here. I look forward to continuing to explore it and be a part of the city.”
