Elon Musk and Tesla are being blasted after a Tesla charger started a fire that nearly killed NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family.

Randall Cobb and his wife revealed that they were “lucky to be alive” after a house fire began after their Tesla charger caught fire.

Randall Cobb’s wife, Aiyda Cobb, posted on Instagram Stories to tell her followers about the incident. She stated their home in Houston caught fire in the garage and “quickly spread,” she wrote, forcing the family to “get out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet.”

It was a miracle that everybody, including three children and the family dog, got out in time.

As a result of the fire, fans took to X, formerly Twitter, and ripped Elon Musk and his company after almost taking the life of a beloved NFL player and his family.

Randall Cobb is not the only one who has dealt with problems with Teslas.

Back in December 2023, Tesla recalled nearly all 2 million of its cars on US roads to limit the use of its Autopilot feature due to nearly 1,000 crashes in which the feature was engaged.

The recall came days after a Washington Post report found at least eight serious accidents, including some fatalities, in which the Autopilot feature should not have been engaged.

A North Carolina home had to be evacuated earlier this year after a 12-volt automobile battery exploded in the kitchen. The man who caused the blaze owned a Tesla. Just like the Randall Cobb situation, nobody was hurt.
